Gwydion

Our Team

We believe that the key to success is having a team with a wide range of experiences, beliefs, talents, and knowledge, who are willing to collaborate, laugh, and geek out with each other.

Carsten has a history of working with young companies, and helping push them towards growth and success. Prior to joining Gwydion, he served as the COO at Above the Treeline, Inc., a B2B SAAS growth company in the publishing industry. At Treeline, Carsten led the company to close a successful series A and managed operations and marketing. Before Treeline, Carsten served as the SVP of strategy, brand and innovation policy at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation where he managed Michigan’s $150 million venture capital portfolio and sat on many portfolio company boards. Carsten has spent time in other strategic consulting positions, received his PhD in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.   Outside of work, Carsten can be found flying planes (real ones, for fun), or enjoying time with his wife and kids.

Duncan grew up in New York City, where he spent his time tinkering from a young age. Programming and working with robots since middle school, Duncan has always aspired to be an inventor. As an undergraduate at the University of Michigan, Duncan worked with VR, robotics, and dynamic solar technology. When the opportunity to transform one of these interests into a product and company arose, Duncan took the leap. A blackbelt in Taekwondo, cactus enthusiast and avid Trekkie, Duncan can be found going on tangents about the utopian future of humanity.

Having moved across oceans once or twice, Tiffany the intern is a crossbreed of the humble Midwest and bustling Shanghai. When she's not trying to figure out if one can really be paid to do what they love, she enjoys pretending to be an adult, felting small animals made from the fur of her imaginary cat, being age ambiguous, and long walks on the beach (only in virtual reality though).
